Rainbow Tissue Paper Craft

Materials:

paper plates

markers (rainbow colors)

scissors

tissue paper (rainbow colors)

glue

paintbrush

Directions:

Begin by talking to your child about rainbow colors and the rainbow order. Ask your child to find the colors you'll be using- red, orange, yellow, blue, green, purple. Cut your tissue paper into 1-inch squares.

Starting with the red marker, have your child (or yourself if they are too young) draw a red circle just inside the outer edge of the paper plate. Next, moving in a little, draw an orange circle. Continue moving inward with your circles and colors, until you have a small purple circle in the center of the plate.

Now turn those circles into a rainbow! Cut straight across the middle of the paper plate and it will make two rainbows.

After you cut the plate in half your child can apply their tissue squares either by laying them flat or crumpling them up before sticking them on. Use the paint brush to dip into glue and paint the glue onto the rainbow.
