Becoming by Michelle Obama
I listened to this beautiful book read by the author while driving, working out, and getting ready in the mornings, and every day, I couldn't wait to get back to it. This book really has very little to do with politics (which she isn't a fan of - read the book to find out why!), so don't shy away if you don't agree with the politics of the Obamas and their administration. It is much more an inspirational, aspirational story of a young girl from humble beginnings as she navigates change through early school, college, law school, early working life, motherhood, and finds herself to be First Lady of the United States. From her memories of piano lessons to being a busy working mom eating lunch in her car in the parking lot while she tried to squeeze in her shopping on her lunch breaks, to just enough dishy behind-the-scenes at the White House in the latter parts of the book, Michelle Obama is candid and relatable. I truly enjoyed this listen. Give it a go, and let me know what you think!
