MOMMY'S TIME OUT

3

A Note from the Editor:

Happy Spring Everyone!

With my finance background I can’t help but think in quarters, which is hard for me to believe it is the beginning of the second quarter already. In the work environment I was in, this was the time to look at your yearly goals and make sure you were on track. Even though I stay at home now I still think it is a good time to evaluate. To be honest, this is the time I usually start to panic about getting things done and I try to kick it in high gear! Spring is typical for this behavior anyway…cleaning things out and really starting to think about what you want to accomplish. I can’t help but think of my Mom when the first nice day hit in Wisconsin I would come home from school and she would have the house opened, cleaning and going through winter clothes and making her biannual donation piles. Funny how that is my habit too, spring and fall, marked on the calendar to go through the closets and get rid of clothes that aren’t worn, don’t fit or just ready to be done with.

What is on your list to accomplish this year? Are there things in your life that don’t fit or are ready to be done with? Maybe you wanted to eat healthier, change jobs or quit a bad habit? I’m reminded of this during Lent when in my faith we usually “give something up”. I decided on self-improvement this year meaning giving up negative thinking and gossiping. I also decided I need to volunteer and give back more.

This is a great time to mention that the Moms Group will be looking for board members for the upcoming year which runs from July-June. We will have many positions available for this awesome ALL VOLUNTEER led Board, so please let us know if you are interested in joining this great group in Lakewood Ranch. I know there are many talented women here so take a minute to think about your talents and strengths and consider taking on a new role.

Cheers and enjoy this month’s issue!
