NOTABLE ACHIEVEMENTS
Associate Professor Kevin Kochersberger received the Alumni Award for Excellence for International Outreach from the Virginia Tech Provost at a May 10th reception at the Inn at Virginia Tech . Kochersberger has been active in building the African Drone and Data Academy , a joint project in Malawi between UNICEF and the Government of Malawi to implement drone use for humanitarian purposes . Several faculty were honored at the Virginia Tech College of Engineering Dean ’ s Awards for Excellence at a reception on May 2 . Amrinder Nain ( left ) was named a Faculty Fellow , Jonathan Boreyko ( not present , represented by Acting Department Head Corina Sandu , second from left ) received the College Award for Outreach Excellence , Ling Li ( second from right ) was named a Faculty Fellow , and Michael Bartlett ( right ) was named an Outstanding New Assistant Professor .
