INSIDE THIS ISSUE
The Advanced Vibrations and Acoustics Lab took control of a one-ton shaker table in De-
cember. The table, loaned from the U.S. Naval Surface Warfare Center at Dahlgren, Virginia,
can apply vibrational forces up to 2,000 kilograms and shake at frequencies up to 4,000
hertz, allowing researchers to recreate a wide variety of environmental conditions in the
lab.
