The senior design and competition team 2LoudVT earned two world records in National Sound Pressure League competition this spring . Their scores of 163.5dB in the kick and 160.3dB on the dash beat their own record . The team has qualified for the NSPL world finals in September . Arvid Myklebust , right , professor emeritus of mechanical engineering , received the Outstanding Alumnus Award from the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department at the University of Florida .
