MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT/CEO
Dear Chamber family,
I want to thank you all for your cooperation and
understanding amidst these trying times. Having faced
the threat of a devastating hurricane at the end of
August, I am extremely grateful that our beautiful city
and county managed to avoid any serious damage
from Hurricane Laura. As a big believer in God, I send
my thoughts, prayers, and condolences to the city of
Lake Charles and Southeast Texas.
With the month of September upon us, we here at the chamber are ready
to continue serving the community and resuming our plans and events we
postponed as a result of Hurricane Laura.
2020 is the Year of Small Business. However, it has also been a year of
unexpected turns and great adversity. During these times, I think it is essential
that we consider the importance of community and remember we are always
stronger together and weaker apart.
As our wonderful city and county continues to grow, we must not forget the
adversity we face as the country (and world) continues to get through many
obstacles. My thoughts and prayers are with those dealing with the damage
of nature’s hurricanes and storms, Jacob Blake, his family, and the city of
Kenosha, Wisconsin, and with the world as we continue to fight a global
pandemic.
Community is everything, and a chamber is nothing without its members
and community. We here at the chamber keep this idea close to our hearts. To
ensure the wellbeing of one community means caring about others as well.
As the nation continues to leap over many obstacles, I assure you that we at
the chamber are working to ensure our efforts benefit not just this community,
but our entire region. We are all in this together and together we will prosper.
Happy September Chamber family, and remember, we are Stronger
Together.
