Gardenkids of Kemah Gardenkids of Kemah, Inc. is a 501c3 non profit organization. We help families reconnect that their food comes from the soil and not the grocery store. At Gardenkids of Kemah anyone can live the seed to table experience without buying a farm of their own. Our Youth Gardeners are called “Growers”. Growers grow food and grow in a love and respect for the environment. The basis to everything that happens at Gardenkids of Kemah is our mission - Protect, Plant and Play: Protect the environment, Plant good food and Play & have Fun. Our events and programs are STEAM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, together with art.) based and teach Service Learning. Through four annual events and six on-going programs, anyone can enjoy an urban farm experience locally. EVENTS Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. (MLK) Day of Service Food and Veggie Show/HoneyFest Global Youth Service Day Alternative Spring Break Days of Service a dedicated bee yard to raise honeybees guided by local beekeepers, and will grow and distribute 5,000 plants that support our pollinators. You can join to save our pollinators. We welcome your support to help us Protect, Plant & Play. Other ways you can support us are by linking your KROGER REWARDS CARD, in-kind donations, purchasing our local honey or sponsoring soon to grow starter plants and Herbs. At Gardenkids of Kemah we continue our mission to Protect, Plant and Play and follow CDC guidelines for community gardens. PROGRAMS Junior Master Gardener Ag-Entrepreneurship Farm Visits/Education Workshops Volunteer Program Master Beekeeper Junior Pollinator Highway Project Gardenkids of Kemah’ s most ambitious program is the Pollinator Highway Project. We aim to help save the Bees and Butterflies. Our community will create a pollinator highway of plants, bees and butterflies. Through Butterfly and Bee education classes along with community involvement, Wildlife and Backyard gardeners benefits from increased flower and food production. Specifically Gardenkids of Kemah will lead members of the community in growing pollinator friendly seedlings/transplants that can be planted in backyards landscapes, parks and open fields.
