LETTER FROM THE EDITOR
Welcome ,
Hello friends , thanks for visiting us in this issue of Momentum NJ Magazine .
I was thinking recently about how I love to learn new things . For me , lifetime learning is a passion . Not just about Information Technology but all kinds of subjects . Ever since I can remember , my interest in new things , in how things work , has pushed me to delve deeper and deeper . Knowledge is power ! I have tried to instill this spirit in my teenage son — we ’ re still working on that , but it is good to have goals !
Years ago , Harvard psychologists found that individuals learn best when complex ideas are broken up into separate , small segments . And in our business at IT Radix , learning is constant as our industry is nothing if not dynamic . That is why we have taken to heart the concept of continual education . For example , our technical staff has regularly scheduled short training sessions . We find the concepts are understood better and readily reinforced as needed . Similarly , with our Clients and Friends , we have short webinars to address recent technologies , demonstrate how to use existing technology better , and discuss overall business technology strategies . They take place at the convenient noon hour and last ten to twenty minutes max ! Please look out for the next one and join us ! But there is plenty you can learn right now with a short perusal of this latest issue of Momentum NJ Magazine . I encourage you to dig further into these pages .
Check out the article penned by entrepreneur Tony Hawk on page 10 where you can explore how to garner the power of resilience to deal with and overcome the hurdles that challenge us all in our business and personal lives . I think you will feel stronger just reading it .
You may not know his name , but Jack Daly is often described as the best professional sales trainer around . On page 4 , you will be introduced to his winning strategy of continual sales success with a focus on cultivating long-lasting client relationships .
And there is plenty more discovery to be had on page 6 where Nick Vujicic , the famous Australian-American evangelist and motivational speaker , elucidates his structured approach to stay motivated , overcome obstacles , and achieve dreams efficiently . He introduces the concept of the “ dream buddy ” and reinforces the idea that creating and celebrating key milestones are the pathway to sustained progress with his “ Grid of Happiness .”
With an “ I want to keep learning ” attitude , we all enhance our lives in numerous ways . We remain more relevant to our friends and families and , importantly , to our employers and companies , as we likely can do more things than just our job description . Learning is the ultimate resume builder , but it also motivates our brains to create innovative ideas and fresh approaches to solving business problems . It makes us more confident in ourselves but also more open to new ideas from others . And candidly , it makes us more interesting individuals . I am reminded of the “ The More You Know ” series of brief public service announcements that used to appear on NBC- TV programs with positive messages about tolerance and mentoring , etc . The More You Know . . . is a good thing !
