BUILDING YOUR BRAND With a Brochure

A

professionally designed brochure puts your brand in the hands of your customer , providing a visual representation of the value your products and services offer . A brochure communicates the benefits of your company in a compact and concise manner and helps solidify your brand in the mind of your customer . Brochures range in shape and size and can be easily scaled to meet your needs and budget . TYPES OF BROCHURE DESIGNS AND FORMATS Tri-fold Brochures are one of the most common styles companies use . Tri-fold brochures are typically the size of a regular piece of paper , folded into three . They are inexpensive , versatile , and fit into # 10 envelopes , making them great for high-volume distribution at events or via mailing campaigns .
Bi-Fold Brochures are another popular style . They can be designed in different sizes and offer a more formal look than a tri-fold brochure . Bifold brochures are wider than tri-folds , so they allow more space for information and images to be presented without the interruption of a crease . Bi- Folds are often expanded into presentation folders and booklets .
Flyers are single sheet communication pieces designed for mass distribution at low cost . They are also referred to as sell sheets , sales slicks , leaflets , or circulars . Flyers are one-page advertisements without and folds . They can be a variety of sizes and either single or double-sided . They can be printed on thicker paper stock and used as postcards or rack cards . THE BROCHURE DESIGN PROCESS The first step is to determine the purpose of your
14 MOMENTUM brochure . This will help determine the style , size , and material of your brochure . For example : For use at a trade show , then a standard bi-fold or tri-fold size brochure on a standard stock will minimize costs .
For presentation to high-level executives , an effective presentation on a specialty paper , embellished with embossing , a custom die-cut , or gold foil may be in order .
When presenting proposals along with company information , a presentation folder-styled brochure with a pocket folder and inserts may be the best solution .
The second step is to prepare the content . Start by creating an outline that organizes your main topics and supporting bullet points . Develop the outline into headings and paragraphs and identify placement of images . Remember to include a call to action and contact information . To best represent your company , consider hiring a copywriter to develop your text and professional photographer to take photos of your facility , products and staff . Next comes the graphic design process . A graphic designer will do industry research to understand your target market and review your branding to ensure consistency . The artist will work to intentionally and creatively incorporate your text and images with your branding . They will then present you with the initial design , request feedback , and make revisions until your design is complete !
Final step is printing ! Once the design has been approved , it is off to the press . Depending on the type of brochure you selected , printing can take anywhere from a few days to a couple of weeks .
