Horizon Dental Care recently hosted a career night for pre-dental graduates
and members of the Health Professions Organization from the University of
Scranton. The students were recognized for their academic achievements and
then had the opportunity to tour Horizon Dental Care. The tour was followed
by a dinner presentation and question and answer session by a panel of six
local dentists on the topics of planning your education in dental school and
progressing your career in dentistry after graduation.

supported Joe Snedeker and his
“Go Joe” campaign in the amount of
$4,000 to benefi t St. Joseph’s Center
in Scranton. Employees also dressed
down for a $5.00 donation, raising an
additional $875 for St. Joseph’s Center.
PennDOT presents
Chuck M. Mattei Award
Pennsylvania Department of Transportation
(PennDOT) District 4 employee Richard
Phillips of Dickson City recently received the
Chuck M. Mattei Award.
The award is given in honor of the late Chuck
M. Mattei, a former District 4 Executive
Engineer. To qualify for the award, employees
must have 10 years or more of service with PennDOT. Mr. Phillips is a Traffi c Control
Specialist and has been a PennDOT employee for 25 years. He has spent most of his
career involved with pavement markings and also created the district pavement marking
policy, which is used when designing the pavement marking plans for each project.
