Keystone College will develop a new
commercial building complex on two
parcels of land along College Avenue
in Factoryville. The complex, located
directly across from the college’s
signature row of Victorian homes, will
enhance the gateway to the campus,
which is also being redeveloped thanks
to a PennDOT streetscape grant.
The new development will house
commercial tenants, including the
region’s first Steak n’ Shake national
franchise restaurant, a Dunkin’ Donuts
Express coffee shop, the relocation
of Keystone’s Follett Campus Shop, a
health and fitness center and a bank,
still to be determined.
Lackawanna College received the
2016-17 Employer of the Year Award
from the Pennsylvania Federation
of Business and Professional
Women’s (BPW/PA) Club. The award
is in recognition of the College’s
employment, advancement, and
recognition of women in the workplace.
Fifty-five percent of Lackawanna
College’s total current staff is
comprised of women in a variety of
roles, but women play a particularly
prominent part in College leadership.
All of Lackawanna’s academic division
chairs, five of the eight members of the
President’s Cabinet, and four of its five
satellite center directors are women.
BPW/PA is a statewide organization of
more than 1600 members in 75 local
organizations and 12 districts throughout
the state. The organization is a leading
advocate for working women in the
Commonwealth focused on all issues that
touch women’s lives and careers.
