Summer Festival
Leadership Lackawanna recently held its fi rst Welcome
Scranton! program, which gives participants an insider’s
look at our community over the course of two and a half
days. This fi rst class had the opportunity to visit several
area businesses, historic and cultural sites, allowing them
to gain a unique knowledge of our region. The goal of
Welcome Scranton! is to give participants a quick, but
thorough, understanding of Scranton and Lackawanna
County, along with a revitalized sense of putting
leadership into action.
“Our goal is to give participants the inside scoop on
what’s happening in our county, directly from experts in
the fi eld,” said Nicole A. Morristell, executive director,
Leadership Lackawanna. “We are delighted with our
fi rst class and hope they continue to put leadership into
action through what they learned at Welcome Scranton!”
The next Welcome Scranton! class will be held in the
spring of 2020. For more information, visit

Country Club of Scranton.
The Summer Festival is an economic development marketing
initiative targeting site selection consultants, real estate

opportunities available in the Greater Scranton area. This year’s
event welcomed more than 50 real estate brokers, consultants
and site selection specialists from neighboring states.
“Summer Festival is one of our most successful marketing
tools, allowing us to showcase the real estate and quality of life
of Lackawanna County,” said Amy S. Luyster, Vice President,
The Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce. “Real estate
professionals, site selection consultants, and corporate executives
representing companies looking for corporate expansion were
in attendance and able to see fi rsthand the many business
opportunities available in the Greater Scranton area.”
