CHAMBER NEWS NEW BOARD MEMBERS Jerry Musheno was most recently employed as vice president and program director for MAXIMUS Federal Services. He currently teaches the pharmacy law programs at both the Wilkes University Nesbitt School of Pharmacy and the Jefferson University College of Pharmacy. A graduate of the University of Scranton, Temple University School of Pharmacy and the Temple University School of Law, he enjoyed a varied pharmacy career, including operating his own pharmacy, before attending law school. He now serves as the board chair for Skills in Scranton. Sister Mary Persico, IHM, Ed.D., is the 12th president of Marywood University. Prior to her presidency, she served as executive vice president for Trinity Health. She was the president of the Congregation of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, from 2002-2010. She also served as the IHM Congregation’s treasurer from 1994-2002. Sister Mary earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in French and Education from Marywood University. She has a Master of Arts degree in French from Assumption College and a Master of Arts degree in Education Administration from Lehigh University. She also earned an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from Lehigh University. Robbie Risley has been a process engineer at Quadrant Engineering Plastic Products since 2004. Prior to that, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Plastics and Polymer Engineering from Pennsylvania College of Technology. He was a graduate of Leadership Lackawanna’s 2013 Core Class, where he received the “Class Leader of the Year” award. He has since served on their Board of Directors and various committees, and he is now board chair for the organization. The Chamber held its inaugural Cooking Class event at The Vintage Kitchen. State sen. John Blake and Chamber president Bob Durkin joined Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development Secretary Dennis Davin and other officials for a tour of manufacturing facilities in Lackawanna County, including LBP Manufacturing, Crystal Window and Door Systems and Gentex. Skills in Scranton, the Chamber’s workforce development affiliate, recently convened the Academy of Health Sciences Advisory Board, as well as its Healthcare Committee, for a discussion on workforce opportunities, educational offerings and future program planning related to growing the region’s healthcare base.
