CHAMBER NEWS The Chamber helped celebrate the grand opening of The Garden Mediterranean Restaurant in Scranton. Skills in Scranton recently completed the healthcare cohort of its Educators in the Workplace program. Business hosts for this cohort included Allied Services, Commonwealth Health Moses Taylor Hospital, Commonwealth Health Regional Hospital of Scranton, Delta Medix, Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton Primary Healthcare Center, and St. Joseph’s Center. The Chamber helped celebrate the grand opening of Springbrook Kennels. The Chamber helped celebrate the unveiling of renovations to the Wright Center’s Clarks Summit offi ce. Representatives from Skills in Scranton recently met with Laura Fridirici, a Career Readiness Advisor with the Pennsylvania Department of Education. The Chamber helped celebrate the grand opening of Crocus Café in Scranton. The Chamber, in partnership with the Greater Wilkes-Barre Chamber of Commerce, hosted its annual Economic Outlook Breakfast, sponsored by Wells Fargo. Skills in Scranton recently received a $1,000 donation from Waste Management under the Pennsylvania Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program to further benefi t its various programs and initiatives. The Chamber hosted a “Power Sales” seminar featuring Steve Schiffman. Alison Knispel has joined our communications department as an intern for the spring semester. She is a senior strategic communications major with a track in public relations at the University of Scranton. Voyager Video, in partnership with the Chamber, received a 2019 American Advertising Silver Award for “Branded Video Campaign” for “The Pillars of the Scranton Chamber,” part of the Chamber’s 150th Anniversary Celebration. www.scrantonchamber.com • 3
