The Honorable Paige Gebhardt Cognetti is the newly-elected Mayor of Scranton and the first female to hold the position. Mayor
Cognetti came from her role as special assistant to the Pennsylvania Auditor General, the chief fiscal watchdog of the commonwealth.
She advised on financial management, governance and transparency. Her areas of focus included public school districts, care for
older adults, criminal justice reform and student debt. Mayor Cognetti previously served as a director on the Scranton School Board,
overseeing a $160M budget and helping navigate the district’s dual crises of financial distress and public mistrust.
Susan Unvarsky
Susan Unvarsky is the vice president
of U.S. customer service operations at
Prudential. Sue oversees back office
operations for Prudential’s entire U.S.
customer base. Her team consists of
more than 700 associates located both
domestically and internationally, and she
is responsible for the administration of
millions of life insurance, retirement and
annuities products.
Amy Brayford
Amy Brayford is the executive vice
president, chief human resource
officer and chief of staff to the
president and chief executive
officer for Geisinger. In this role, Ms.
Brayford is responsible for human
resource operations and strategy for
the 30,000-employee organization.
Lisa Barbieri Moher
Lisa Barbieri Moher is the North American
head of distribution package engineering
and graphics for Sanofi. Ms. Moher has
over 17 years’ experience in thermal
engineering and is currently responsible for
all package engineering and graphics for
the Sanofi business units: Pharma, Pasteur,
Genzyme, and Chattem. Ms. Moher is also
the global subject matter expert of cold
chain at Sanofi.
Dr. Jill Murray
Dr. Jill Murray, incoming president of Lackawanna College, brings a breadth of experience to
her new role, set to begin this summer. In her current role of executive vice president and chief
innovation officer, Dr. Murray has helped double the student population and
increased graduation rates, as well as assisted in forming the College’s Level
Up program, which seeks to make college more affordable for students.
Katie Beekman
Katie Beekman has worked for the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders since 2010 and was named
general manager in September 2019. Ms. Beekman manages the day-to-day business operations for
the front office and team and was recently named MiLB International League Woman of the Year.
