WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO START YOUR BUSINESS? Heather Percival & Lisa Burke Township Trading Co., our “little shoppe on the boulevard,” came out of the want and need for a home for small businesses in our area. Since we opened in November 2017 we have been home to more than 25 local small businesses. We knew each other from participating in a number of charitable events and we were drawn to each other’s drive. Like us, many of our small business partners previously had in-home or online businesses and a brick-and-mortar store just seemed out of reach. We are a small business marketplace of sorts, but with a comfortable and welcoming boutique feel. WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT DOING BUSINESS LOCALLY? We are lucky enough to surround ourselves with community-minded business partners and customers. We really do have the best customers and they have become our best form of advertisement! Being part of the business community we call home is important to us. WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO JOIN THE CHAMBER? We have had previous relationships with the Chamber from past jobs and we knew fi rst-hand how much the Chamber could not only help us grow, but also help us become a part of a larger community of locally-owned businesses.
