The AllOne Foundation Grant
The AllOne Foundation awarded the Northeast
Regional Cancer Institute with a $225,000 multi-
year grant. This investment will ensure the continuous
work of the Cancer Screening Navigation Program for
underserved residents of northeastern Pennsylvania to
facilitate colon, breast, and cervical cancer screenings,
and to identify and assist with barriers to screening,
diagnosis and treatment while establishing and re-
establishing medical homes for the targeted population.
PennDOT Bring your Child to Work Day
Children of PennDOT employees District 4 recently
participated in “Bring your Child to Work Day.” As
part of the day, the children made safety posters and
heard presentations by the Pennsylvania State Police,
Lackawanna County Environmental Sustainability
Department, GEICO and Rock 107’s Prospector.
New Program Agreement between Lackawanna College and Marywood University
Lackawanna College and Marywood University recently signed an articulation agreement where Lackawanna’s Pre-
Allied Health associate degree program graduates who meet the designated criteria may transfer into the Nursing
program at Marywood University. Once enrolled in the University’s program, students must maintain a 3.0 GPA overall
and in their major-specific courses. In addition, Lackawanna College students must complete Marywood’s Nutrition
I course before graduation. Through a dual enrollment agreement, this course may be completed free of charge at
Marywood while enrolled at Lackawanna.
