Lackawanna County Children’s Library Celebrates 30th Anniversary
Library supporters, patrons and artists recently came together in celebration
of the Lackawanna County Children’s Library 30th anniversary during First
Friday in Scranton.
Special guests included Peg McDade, Marshall Rumbaugh and Richard
Leonori, three out of the four original artists who created much of the library’s
artwork, including the Hans Christian Andersen sculpture, the Beatrix Potter
sculpture, and the hanging cloud sculptures. In addition to the original three,
artist Liz Kluesner joined the group to discuss the hand-painted mural she
made for the library that depicts the Everhart Museum and Nay Aug Park.
Also on display were the newly-restored heritage dolls created by local artists
Peg McDade and Marshall Rumbaugh. The restoration was made possible
through a grant from the Lackawanna Heritage Valley Authority.
