MEMBER NEWS SMG Management names Head of Booking Team Scranton Area Community Foundation Awards Funds for the Arts On behalf of the Governor’s Arts Awards Committee, Scranton Tomorrow recently accepted a $2,500 grant from the Scranton Area Foundation. While planning activities for the recent awards ceremony, Scranton Tomorrow and committee members partnered with existing arts and cultural organizations from throughout the region in order to highlight their contributions to the local arts community in Wilkes-Barre. Brian Sipe, general manager of Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza, was recently named the head of the SMG Northeast Regional booking team by SMG Manage- ment, the private management company that oversees the day-to-day operations of the arena. Mr. Sipe, who has been the general manager of the Wilkes-Barre Township venue since October 2014, will now oversee regional booking calls for the Northeast United States and Canada. Mr. Sipe began his career with SMG as booking and box office manager in 2008 at the Santander Arena in Reading before accepting a position as general manager of the Big Sandy Superstore Arena in Huntington, West Virginia in 2010. Mr. Sipe joined the team of Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza in 2014, when he accepted the role of general manager of the 10,000 seat multi- purpose arena.
