JHA Companies Opens New Location
Wayne Bank Receives National Honor
Wayne Bank was recently named among the top one percent most extraordinary banks in the United States by The Institute for Extraordinary Banking .
JHA Companies recently opened a new office at One Montage Mountain Road in Moosic . The new location will serve all of Lackawanna , Luzerne and Wyoming Counties . JHA Companies offers services such as civil and structural engineering , surveying , mapping and regulatory support , including permit preparation , review and submittal .
Wayne Bank was recognized with the Institute ’ s Banky Award for its commitment to strong community banking . This recognition is given to the top 60 out of 6,000 community banks across the country . The Extraordinary Banking Awards exist to highlight the vital , yet often overlooked , role that local , community banks play in the economy .

Lightspeed Technologies Sales Staff Achieves Certifications
Members of the Lightspeed Technologies sales team recently achieved Cisco certifications in their field . Jeff Boam , inside sales , and Victor Delaglio , outside sales , completed training and passed the Cisco Business Value Analyst Certification . Joe Strubeck , sales administrator , is a Cisco Services Expert and a Barracuda Certified Sales Partner . Additionally , Strubeck holds VMware VSP certificates in Desktop and Server Virtualization and is a NetApp Accredited Sales Professional with certificates in FlexPod for Account Managers , SnapProtect Management Software , Data Protection , Data Fabric , ONTAP and is a CBSA ( Cloud Builder Sales Associate ).

Holiday Inn Express & Suites Receives Award
The Holiday Inn Express & Suites in Dickson City recently received the IHG ( InterContinental Hotels Group ) 2016 Torchbearer Award , which is the company ’ s most prestigious award . The hotel is one of 337 properties within the Americas chosen from the IHG system of more than 5,000 hotels for achieving the highest levels of excellence in all aspects of operation , from quality to customer satisfaction .
Building upon the upcoming availability of bachelor ’ s degrees in Business and Criminal Justice , Lackawanna College recently announced that it will also offer its first bachelor ’ s degree in Human Services next fall .
The Human Services bachelor ’ s degree will expand upon Lackawanna ’ s popular associate degree while it adds important instruction in additional counseling theories , case management , ethics , substance abuse and more . The degree will also add higher level competencies in English , social and behavioral sciences , psychology , as well as other subjects .
Lackawanna College also announced that it will relocate its Surgical Technology program to its Scranton campus in the Fall 2017 semester .
For years , the program was housed in Lackawanna ’ s Towanda Center to train technologists who work under the direct supervision of surgeons and registered nurses as the College developed relationships with healthcare providers in Pennsylvania and New York .
Officials say that transitioning the program to Scranton will give students access to even more regional healthcare systems and open opportunities for residential housing .
