PERSONNEL Gary Peters has been named the executive vice president of the automotive sector at Ken Pollock Enterprises, where he will oversee all Ken Pollock Auto Group operations. JFSNEPA Receives Grant from Robert H. Spitz Foundation Jewish Family Service of Northeastern Pennsylvania recently received a $10,000 grant from the Robert H. Spitz Foundation to assist with general operating support for the organization. Grants from the Robert H. Spitz Foundation are administered by the Scranton Area Community Foundation. Lackawanna College Announces New Nursing Program Lackawanna College’s new Associate of Science Degree in Nursing (ASN) program will begin in Fall 2020 and is the only two-year professional nursing program in Lackawanna County. The program will take half the time of a traditional bachelor’s degree in nursing and will prepare students to take the National Council Licensure Examination-RN (NCLEX-RN). In preparation for the program’s launch, Lackawanna College received a $500,000 grant from the Moses Taylor Foundation to outfit a state-of-the-art Simulation Skills Lab. Summit Pointe recently held its resident appreciation month, featuring a cookout for residents, as well as a fundraiser for Alex’s Lemonade Stand. 10 • The Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce Mr. Peters has been a part of the company since 2005, advancing progressively through various managerial positions, including his success as the General Manager of Ken Pollock Nissan, Wilkes-Barre. Keystone College has named Frances Langan, Ed.D. as its new vice president for institutional advancement and strategic initiatives. Dr. Langan has been a faculty member at Keystone since 1985 and has been affiliated with the college since 1980. She has served as the chair of the Division of Social Sciences, the Division of Education, and most recently, as dean of the School of Professional Studies. Dr. Langan is a graduate of Wilkes University. She received a master’s degree in public administration from Marywood University and a doctorate in education from Temple University. She is also a registered nurse. Laurie Harrington was recently promoted to assistant vice president, commercial loan officer at the Honesdale National Bank. Harrington began her career at the bank in 2004 as a teller and was promoted to customer service representative and then administrative assistant before transferring to the Loan Department in 2005.
