Commitment
The Greater Scranton Chamber of
Commerce works with representatives at all
levels of government to establish a positive
business climate in the City of Scranton,
Lackawanna County and our region.
For the City of Scranton, we secured the
services of a consultant to assist with
financial recovery, we led in securing
authorization of Federal Opportunity Zones
and tax incentives to promote development,
we facilitated creation of a downtown
revitalization plan, and we developed a
gateway corporate center that replaced
an environmental wasteland with sound
businesses providing quality jobs.
The Greater Scranton Chamber of
Commerce is committed to and has faith
in the people and businesses of Scranton
– they are the true representatives of our
collective culture and character, and we
remain committed to them and to future
generations of Scrantonians.

Successes in Scranton have been hard
fought, given problematic tax structures and
political malfeasance that have been both
a barrier to economic development and an
embarrassment to the good citizens of this
city.
