PERSONNEL Chris Langley was recently promoted to the position of Vice President of Information Systems at Allied Services Integrated Health System. A 17-year employee, through his dedication to team building and leadership, the information systems and system improvements/outcome analysis departments at Allied became unified as the information systems department. Melissa Kelleher, RN, BSN, has been named Assistant Vice President of the Home Health division at Allied Services Integrated Health System. She oversees a staff that provides skilled nursing, medical social services and physical, occupational and speech therapy to patients in their own homes.  Allied Services Integrated Health System recently named Michelle Peffer, RN, as the new director of nursing for the team at Allied Services Transitional Rehab Unit in Scranton. She has more than 18 years of experience in healthcare, with more than seven years dedicated to helping patients in a skilled nursing setting. Kevin E. Bowman, PharmD, MBA, BCGP, Assistant Vice President of Pharmacy Services, Allied Services Pharmacy, recently met the requirements for a seven-year recertification as a board certified geriatric pharmacist awarded by the Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS). Gary A. Beppler, PharmD, the Certified Antibiotic Stewardship Pharmacist and Consultant Pharmacist for Allied Services Pharmacy, recently achieved certification in antibiotic stewardship through the Society of Infectious Disease Pharmacists. Marywood University recently announced the appointment of Joy Hughes as the founding director of its new Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Therapy (BSRT) Program, which is the only BSRT program in the region. She will develop the new program’s curriculum, oversee its accreditation process, and develop and maintain relationships with medical facilities. Since 2012, Ms. Hughes served as an assistant professor and director of clinical education for the respiratory therapy program at Harrisburg Area Community College. In this role, he will oversee all consumer and casino communications, including entertainment, promotions, special events and more. A graduate of Penn State University with a focus in accounting, Mr. Parfrey’s career took root at Mohegan Sun Pocono in the mid-2000s, eventually leading to being named director of finance in 2009, which he held until 2017 when he was named director of financial planning and analysis. In this role, he led Mohegan Sun Pocono’s Marketing Analytics team, along with advising senior management on operational trends, maintaining financial budgeting and overseeing financial modeling projects associated with capital investment opportunities. Thomas Sohns has been promoted to vice president at NBT Bank. Mr. Sohns has nearly 10 years of experience in the financial services industry and currently serves as a commercial banking relationship manager. Prior to joining NBT Bank, he worked as a business banking officer and commercial lender for FNB Corporation. He also worked as a credit analyst for Community Bank. institution as an adjunct professor and clinical instructor, beginning in 2005. Ms. Hughes holds a master of science degree in health administration and a bachelor of science in healthcare leadership from the University of St. Francis. She received her associate of science degree in respiratory therapy from Harrisburg Area Community College. She is a certified respiratory therapist and a registered respiratory therapist, with specializations in both neonatal pediatric and adult critical care.
