One of the most important roles
of any chamber of commerce is
to serve as a voice for business in
dealing with the public sector. This
component is critical, given the
impact of public policy on many
facets of business operations.
Many business and economic
development successes throughout
the history of Lackawanna County
were accomplished through
partnerships of the Chamber and
governmental entities at all levels.
Government relations have always been
an essential part of this Chamber, and
will continue to be so in the future.
We want to hear from you, our members, on issues that are
important to your business. In the near future, you will receive a
Government Affairs survey that includes questions designed to get
your views on important matters of public policy. I want to strongly
encourage all of our members to complete the survey, as it will
provide staff and volunteer leadership with the core information
needed to represent our business community in interactions with
elected offi cials at all levels.
