Haak Winery
Just south of League off Hwy 646 you can discover Haak Winery . This pet friendly family venue has many activities for fun and enjoyment . Recently remodeled under new ownership , the winery has a Bistro on site that offers a variety of light foods and appetizers and desserts , as well as a great little store . Take a full Haak Winery tour to include the vineyards and follow it up with delightful wine tastings . Tastings can be done by the glass or by a flight which includes five different wines . Take a real “ in person ” safari right in our own backyard , just west of Gulf Frwy . on FM 517 in Alvin . Explore wildlife with an experienced , knowledgeable guide from the comfort of a tram . Each ride , touring through the 80 acre zoo lasts approximately 30 to 40 minutes , where you will see many types of deer , antelopes , buffaloes , camels , zebras , and other exotic animals . During the tram ride , you can feed the animals for an up-close encounter !
After your ride , wander through Addie Lou ’ s Barnyard to see typical farm animals to exotics , such as Wallabies , Pygmy Goats , Lemurs and much more ! Then stop by the big main barn to meet giraffes and Annie our pet Water Buffalo .

Ever wanted to pick strawberries or black berries right off the bush ? Froberg ’ s Farm in Alvin , is your place to go . If you are not afraid to get your hands a little dirty , their fruit and vegetable picking is a lot of fun . Strawberrypicking , ( the most popular attraction ) , typically starts in January and ends late May . Blackberrypicking starts in May and goes through July .
If you would rather not do the labor , Froberg ’ s Country Store & Bakery has several kinds of fresh fruits and vegetables ready to take home , and over 35 different flavors of pies , cookies , cupcakes , jellies , preserves , pralines , pecan brittle , peanut brittle , nuts , candies , kettle and caramel corn .
Next to the Country Store is Greaks Smokehouse , offering a large variety of homemade Sausage , Boudain , Jerky & stuffed Pork Chops . They also offer Deer Processing .
