Dear Chamber Family,
July 8, 2020, marks my one-year anniversary as your
Chamber President/CEO. In this role, I have faced and
overcome many challenges and obstacles. I was blessed
with a warm welcome from Mayor Hallisey, City Manager,
and City Council. I have had the opportunity to develop
new personal and professional friendships with my Board
of Directors and Chamber members. The League City Regional Chamber of
Commerce is a special place that I love and call home!
As an organization, we have made several changes. Your Chamber has
analyzed our programs to assure they are educational and relevant business
topics. We formed standard operating procedures to make our work more
efficient and effective. Your Chamber restructured our membership dues to
bring urgent and long-term value to our members. We enhanced our social
media presence by tripling our followers and engaging on new social media
platforms. Your Chamber designed strong controls around our financials and
implemented checks and balances to ensure we are being good stewards
of your resources. We employed new policies and procedures to be more
efficient with our time so we can focus more on our members. Your Chamber
implemented marketing and branding strategies to be more consistent and
purposeful. The Chamber recognizes that successful organizations must focus
on continuous improvement.
As I reflect over the last year, I want to focus on being more strategic and
intentional. My goal is to become a value-based Chamber! I want to know
why businesses joined the Chamber and what they expect to receive. Then, we
can align with their needs and exceed their expectations. Of course, that will
overall increase our member engagement and retention rate. A Chamber of
Commerce is about relationships that transform into business transactions. I will
aim to create deep relationships with all my members. We are here to listen,
provide resources, and give feedback when asked.
This past year has been an astonishing journey for me personally and
professionally. With the strong leadership from our Board of Directors, the
Chamber has an immeasurable ceiling.
THE BEST IS YET TO COME!
