You may say no way , but it is true . Anyone can

enjoy the beauty of a garden by visiting any of our local public gardens in League City .
League City is full of interesting landmarks and some beautiful gardens are a part of that landscape . There is a fun Coloring Book that shows places and locations : The League City Landmark Coloring Book . Created by the League City Communications Department , “ The book features 12 hand-drawn coloring pages , a map of various landmarks to visit around the City including museums . historic buildings , and parks ..”
Some notable gardens include the newly renovated League Park . Take the family and stroll the beautiful holiday decorations and relax at the Gazebo . Just across the street is Helen ’ s Garden with many native plants and flowers that are maintained year round . Helen ’ s garden is a great place to relax or even take that nature inspired family photo . Did you know this garden was once a railway-stop for the Galveston , Houston , and Henderson Railroad in the late 1800 ’ s ?
And don ’ t forget to walk off that holiday meal on the grounds of
the Butler Longhorn Museum . You may even see ducks or turtles in the pond . Further out is one of the City ’ s newest park , The WaterSmart Park . The WaterSmart Park is home to the Sixty foot high Ghirardi Compton Oak . This water smart part boast a living roof- Plants that grow on the rooftop- and imperative signs to explain all the water saving features of the park . For long walks and Bird Watching The Dr . Ned and Fay Dudney Clear Creek Nature Center ’ s 148 acres can give anyone a workout with nature as a bonus .
So grab a map ( Coloring Book ), get moving and go enjoy “ your own public garden ”. See more of the City ’ s most familiar and visited places where nature abounds . Free copies of the Coloring Books are available for League City residents to pick up at City Hall , the Helen Hall Library , and the Hometown Heroes Recreation Center .
