How Does a COMMUNITY MEMBER MAKE A DIFFERENCE in Clear Creek ISD ?
What difference can we make ? In the broadest sense , we can make a positive difference through the “ Three T ’ s ”: time , talent , and treasure . That is , we can devote our time to assist in the educational enterprise ; we may become involved in activities in which our knowledge , skills , and abilities benefit students and the district ; and we can donate funds or other resources to support education . Typically , the more positive and targeted our support , the greater impact we can have educating our children .
While this piece is about Clear Creek ISD , the same opportunities exist in every school district .
How can we make a difference in Clear Creek ISD ( CCISD ) – at a district level ? CCISD has many ways for us to get involved :

• Talent : Engage in academic and extracurricular programs as a mentor , advisor , or aide . Opportunities vary from robotics to classroom support , from judging debate to science fairs and art exhibitions . If you have the talent , there will be ways to assist students .
• Treasure : Donate to the Clear Creek Education Foundation , Communities in Schools- Bay Area , Assistance League of Bay Area , or another of the many non-profits that benefit students and the district . In addition , companies can advertise throughout the district and contribute through financial and in-kind donations .

How can we make a difference in Clear Creek ISD – at the school level ?
• Time : Become active in the school ’ s PTA , assist the teachers and staff , or become a substitute teacher , with the proper credentials . In addition , you can assist on field trips , school events , holiday programs , and the many other activities each school hosts .
• Talent : Participate in a school ’ s academic and extracurricular programs as a mentor , advisor , or aide . Each school can provide examples of their programs and programmatic needs . • Treasure : Donate to a school ’ s activities , PTA , booster clubs or sponsoring programs . In addition , companies can provide resources , manpower , equipment and supplies . How else can you make a difference ? You can make a difference every day by :
• Speak up – In support of children , academics , CCISD and public education . Public education matters .
• Speak out – When you hear false or defamatory statements about the district , teachers , staff , board , or community . When you have a question , ask the appropriate CCISD staff person . Truth matters .
• Value education and learning – From conversations at home to conversations with teachers . Values matter .
• Support students – From voting for school board trustees and school bonds to supporting candidates who champion public education . Votes matter .
