2016 Annual Fall Golf Classic Chambers are Creative Promoters and Producers of Popular Events The League City Regional Chamber of Commerce (LCRCC) Annual Golf Classic, being held on October17, 2016 at South Shore Harbour Country Club is one of our most popular and profitable events. We have several, annual, monthly, and ad hoc events that meet our mission statement “to help businesses thrive and together build a vibrant community.” We have a range of events, programs and committees with a large range of diversity that our members will find several of interest; most providing education to the businesses and economic development to our community and some just for fun and networking. Events are part of the revenue generated for chambers, the national average is about 15% of total annual revenue. The funds generated allow us to continue our programs that benefit all members. Today, let’s discuss the Annual Golf Classic. All of the LCRCC events, this one included, could not happen without the generosity of our sponsors, we thank them all. The tournament is a fun, full day of activities and everyone engages in networking. We can just imagine the number of connections for future endeavors formed during the play of 18 holes of golf. Trophies are awarded at the end of the tournament as dinner is being served. We have a traveling trophy that goes to the winning team and can be displayed at their business for a year. The trophy is named for Mary Jane Dorman who was the organizer of the first tournament, Ms. Dorman will be playing in this year’s event, so if you meet her please thank her for starting a great annual tradition. The chamber charges for teams to play and we sell tickets for items like, split the pot, closest the hole, the putting game and many others. All proceeds from the event will allow us to continue our mission. 2015 Award winners Our volunteers are the key to all events, they give of their time generously and we could not continue to perform at such a high level of success without their help. We thank them for their help. If you have not engaged in the chamber, now would be a great time to start. Call the chamber and talk to any of the staff, they can answer your questions and help you find a “fit for you.” It is a great chance to meet other members of our community, Again, a huge “THANK YOU” to our sponsors and chairwoman Fay Picard.
