How Business Etiquette
IMPACT YOUR BUSINESS
E
tiquette is one of those old French words
that Webster dictionary describes in
meaning as; the conventional requirements
to social behavior, proprieties of conduct as
establishes in any class or community. To
put it bluntly business etiquette is “not about fork and
knife” – it’s about consideration and respect toward
the people around us. Knowing which fork to use
at a dinner table is good, but knowing how to avoid
offending your fellow diners is about etiquette and
manners.
Likewise, business etiquette is about how our
business relationships reflect thoughtful consideration
of the interests, trust and wellbeing of others.
Developing and implementing a philosophy based on
good business etiquette that is connected to our own
business goals and aspirations can significantly impact
the success of our organizations.
Business etiquette
with mutual trust
and positive
communication
should be a
corner stone of
our business
daily culture
and processes.
Imagine
going to your
doctor, dentist,
pharmacist or
fitness facility
then have
your personal
communication
with these folks
made public or
you are treated
with a lack of
mutual respect.
Let’s face it;
most of us may
not do business

organizations, EVER again!
Every aspect of good business etiquette will
showcase your best business manners. From the
moment a customer contacts your business, whether
by simple walking-in, making a phone call or any digital
form of communication, it is critical to demonstrate
good business etiquette. It is a sure-fire way to build
good business relationships and partnerships with your
teams, customers, clients, neighbors and community.
The results…..business growth!
Knowledge of business etiquette is, of course, not all
it will take to ring your cash register. But, it will minimize
any misunderstandings or business blunders that can
ultimately kill a deal-in-progress, rack up some bad
reviews or worst lose a good or potential customer. The
presence or lack of business etiquette, might not be
immediately apparent or visible, but will certainly impact
your bank account!
