NON-PROFIT GAYLE NELSON Family Promise of Clear Creek [email protected] www.ccfamilypromise.org REACH FOR THE STAR A manda is one of many individuals in our community who has found herself faced with the sudden crisis of homelessness. In addition to having to provide for herself, Amanda also struggled to provide food and shelter for her young son. ā€œI’m a felon and ex-addict who, for years, struggled to keep a job and a roof over my head. I felt worthless and had lost all hope in others. But Family Promise took a chance on me despite my past. They showed me how much God loves me through the loving guidance of every volunteer, who cheered me on and pushed me to meet my goals.ā€ Through the Family Promise program, Amanda learned practical life skills like budgeting, time management, how to set achievable goals, and 34 MOMENTUM how to take the necessary steps to meet them. Having been graduated from the program for almost a year, Amanda is continuing to work and save money as she looks forward to buying her first house for her and her son. There is one constant in our community: families in need. School districts we serve report over 2,000 homeless children* living in our area. These families remain at the core of why we exist and they are fundamental to our mission. Join us on Saturday, October 5th from 6-9 pm at Bay Oaks Country Club as we Reach for the Star to help people like Amanda and over 95 other people have done through the Family Promise program. Still accepting sponsorships and auction items.
