New for 2019. Rewarding those who support us!
It is always a challenge for nonprofit organizations such as ours to fundraise in
order to provide the services our members need or as an organization to market
and advocate for our membership. To be a successful organization, you must
have a product to sell, which has value to those who want to purchase it. As an
organization, we support ourselves through membership dues and
sponsorships. We grow and retain membership by providing services to our
members, which they value, and which can add to their bottom line. As long as
there is a value, members will continue to be members.
However, providing value does come with a price. Membership dues allow us to
maintain our building, staff, and operational needs to provide a base of
operations to support our business community. To provide the additional
services such as workshops, seminars and events, we count on sponsorships.
Sponsorships enable us to bring these to the membership free or at little
charge. This is always an annual challenge and fortunately we have been
blessed the past three years with steady membership growth, mostly driven by
referrals from you our members and we thank you for those kind gestures. The
challenge continues to be finding sponsors for those events, which the
membership has indicated they value and would like to see more of or expand
upon.
This challenge, we believe we have answered by developing a new
membership program that rewards you as a member for rewarding us. Starting
this month, we will begin our fundraising campaign for 2019 and with that a
new program; Membership/Sponsorship for 2019. You can review the program
in its entirety by CLICKING HERE. The new program works in the following way:
When you renew your membership or join the chamber of commerce, the new
membership/sponsorship package which is posted on our website, will not only
describe the membership levels but will include the sponsorships available for
the 2019 calendar year. So, the following is an example of how we reward you
for rewarding us with your investment.
Say you join as a basic member, which would be an investment of $325.00. But
you would also like to sponsor an Economic Development Luncheon during the
year. That now adds up to a total annual investment with us of $1325.00.
Because of your total investment, you will now be rewarded with a Bronze level
membership and all the added value that comes with attaining that level of
membership. As you support us during the year, this will be taken into account
and if the total investment brings you up to the next level you’re rewarded with
the added value perks, which accompany that membership level for the
remaining annual cycle of membership. This is a way, we can help you earn a
return on your investment with us as well as a thank you for your trust and
confidence in us as an organization.
We are excited that the board of directors realizes the value of rewarding
members for investing in our organization in this way. If you have any questions,
please do not hesitate to reach out to me or the staff. It is our goal to help build
your business as a partner and this is just another way of helping you market our
member businesses or services to the community to accomplish that goal.
