MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT/CEO THE YEAR OF SMALL BUSINESS has gotten off to a fantastic start! We hosted our second monthly Small Business Industry Spotlight panel on Financial Literacy and Taxes at Butler’s Court- yard. This event was sponsored by our Five (5) Star Member, Fairfield Inn & Suites League City. The delicious breakfast was sponsored by our Four (4) Star Member, Chick-Fil-A league City Parkway, our Centerpieces were sponsored by Ana’s Décor and Design and Nerds To Go Computer Services was our table sponsor. This event could not have been successful without our panelist, past Board of Directors Chair- man, Bill Provenzano, current Board of Director Member, Kristi Trevino, and Galves- ton County Tax Assessor/Collector, Cheryl Johnson. Board of Director Member, Rolando Villarreal kept the audience engaged while he emceed the breakfast. I personally want to thank all that participated and attended this event. Next, YOUR chamber held a jammed packed “Future of Education” Luncheon with our education advocate, Senator Larry Taylor. This event was sponsored by our Five (5) Star Member, UTMB, our Four (4) Star Member AMOCO Federal Credit Union, and Grace Church. Senator Taylor is a native Texan raised in Friendswood and a Baylor University graduate. Senator Taylor serves as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Education and as a member of the following committees: Higher Education; Water and Rural Affairs, and the budget writing Finance committee. This is a great time to get involved with YOUR League City Regional Chamber of Commerce. We are excited about the revamped Leadership League City Forum be- ginning in August.
