MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT/CEO
THE YEAR OF SMALL BUSINESS has gotten off to a fantastic
start! We hosted our second monthly Small Business Industry
Spotlight panel on Financial Literacy and Taxes at Butler’s Court-
yard. This event was sponsored by our Five (5) Star Member,
Fairfield Inn & Suites League City. The delicious breakfast was
sponsored by our Four (4) Star Member, Chick-Fil-A league City
Parkway, our Centerpieces were sponsored by Ana’s Décor and
Design and Nerds To Go Computer Services was our table sponsor. This event
could not have been successful without our panelist, past Board of Directors Chair-
man, Bill Provenzano, current Board of Director Member, Kristi Trevino, and Galves-
ton County Tax Assessor/Collector, Cheryl Johnson. Board of Director Member,
Rolando Villarreal kept the audience engaged while he emceed the breakfast. I
personally want to thank all that participated and attended this event.
Next, YOUR chamber held a jammed packed “Future of Education” Luncheon
with our education advocate, Senator Larry Taylor. This event was sponsored by
our Five (5) Star Member, UTMB, our Four (4) Star Member AMOCO Federal Credit
Union, and Grace Church. Senator Taylor is a native Texan raised in Friendswood
and a Baylor University graduate. Senator Taylor serves as Chairman of the Senate
Committee on Education and as a member of the following committees: Higher
Education; Water and Rural Affairs, and the budget writing Finance committee.
This is a great time to get involved with YOUR League City Regional Chamber of
Commerce. We are excited about the revamped Leadership League City Forum be-
ginning in August. I encourage you to take advantage of our early bird discount.
Please remember to promote our Buy Local First Initiative: First Place to Buy Lo-

support our Small Business owners.
The League City Regional Chamber of Commerce goal is to advocate on behalf
of our members while offering valuable events that provide opportunities to
connect, cultivate relationships, network and enhance visibility for your company,
