10 FOODS To
Boost Your Energy
F
atigue is a common problem involving a
physical and mental state of being extremely
tired. Left unchecked, fatigue can disrupt your
day and hinder your performance at work and
leave you left with no energy for play. Start
today by learning the foods that can keep you going
and in the end...thriving!
Below is a list of foods that can do just that!
Coconut
The oils that are found in coconut provide a super
nutritious source of energy as it primarily consists of
medium chain triglycerides, a type of fat that is turned
into energy quickly and efficiently. Coconut is utilized by
the body to actually produce energy rather than store
it as fat. That’s what we want! Coconut is an awesome
food to prevent you from feeling sluggish throughout
the day.
Eggs
Eggs are an absolutely awesome source of iron and
protein! They are also naturally rich in B-vitamins which
are responsible for converting food into energy. Eggs
are sure to give you a sustainable hit of energy which
will last throughout the whole day.
Ginger Tea
Forget the afternoon coffee and grab a ginger tea
instead! Not only can coffee keep you up all night
and disrupt your body clock, caffeine is also known to
contribute to nervousness, increased heart rate, and
restlessness. Doesn’t sound like fun to us! Ginger-
infused tea is filled with antioxidants and nutrients that
will give you that afternoon boost without the caffeine
consequences. All you need to do is boil water with
some fresh ginger for 5-10 minutes and add a squeeze
of lemon before drinking. Yum!
Nuts
Almonds, cashews and hazelnuts are all high in
magnesium, which plays a major role in converting
sugar into energy and are also filled with fiber to keep
your blood sugar levels even. Keep a bag at your desk
and just a handful at 3PM will give you longer lasting
energy than a cup of coffee ever will.
Salmon

goodness that contains essential omega-3 fatty acids,
which are important for energy production, brain
activity, and circulation. On a side note, it’s also great for
maintaining heart health! You just can’t go wrong with a
nice piece of salmon.
Green Tea and Matcha
More of a tea drinker? Much like coffee, green tea
naturally contains caffeine, but it also has a compound
called thymine that keeps you focused and alert without
feeling jittery. Meanwhile, its powerful properties help
burn more belly fat. Matcha is finely ground powder of
specially grown and processed green tea. It contains 10
times the nutritional value of green tea.
Yerba Mate
Never heard of yerba mate? Allow me to explain: it’s
an all-natural energy drink derived from the mate plant
found in South America. Like coffee and green tea, it
has a natural source of caffeine, but its abundance of
vitamins and minerals helps sustain your energy without
the crash and burn.
Avocado
If you’re feeling run down, you can simply have some
avocado, straight up and all by itself. You’ll be surprised
how filling it is just on its own and with the high level of
potassium it provides and the healthy fats it contains,
you’ll be hitting some very important energy-producing
checkpoints to make you feel great right away.
Bonus: Water
Ok, so it’s not a food, but it is one of the most
important nutrients (yes, water is considered an essential
nutrient). With two-thirds of our body made of water,
it is important to stay hydrated. Water helps control
body temperature, digestion, and it acts as a medium in
many metabolic processes in the body including energy
production.
