Dawning of a New Era
In February of 2019 will mark the publication of the first printed edition of
Momentum, which for the past three years was delivered in a digital format to our
readers via email. Readership of the digital edition has steadily grown to over that
time to 17,000 readers per month and we continue to grow. The magazine has
received awards for its content and presentation and has performed as a
communications platform to help inform, educate and advocate for our chamber
membership as well as the small to medium businesses in our region. If you are
reading this column in the first printed edition, you are probably seeing the
magazine for the first time. Welcome! You received it by USPS to your place of
business to addressed to your attention. We thank you for taking time to read it.

This first printed issue will be delivered to 5,000 business leaders, owners and
operators in Galveston County. You ask why would this chamber of commerce
located in League City take the time, expense and effort to produce a product to
do this? The answer is quite simple. Bridget Bear

You can feel it everywhere you drive around our county. There is growth and
development in all sectors. Quite simply, our bay area region is becoming a leader
in the greater Houston Market. It is the dawning of a new era. The forefront of this
explosive growth are the cities of League City, Dickinson, Webster, Friendswood,
Clear Lake Shores, Texas City / La Marque and Kemah. Like all areas of explosive
growth there needs to be a communications vehicle, which can serve all with the
business news about economic development, business education, and necessary
information that businesses need and desire, to help understand and grow their
businesses. Elga Boeker

The goal of this venture is to serve up a first-class business publication to help tell
the story of Galveston County as it becomes a regional business leader, developer,
and destination for innovative technologies. It is our sincere hope you will enjoy
each issue that we produce going into the future and please let us know what we
can do to furnish the information you need or desire. If you like what we are doing,

for your reading pleasure. Yes, we will continue to produce the digital copy as well
and send it to our 17,000 and growing monthly readers, who we hope will be
joined by the readers of the 5,000 copies being mailed each month.
How can you help us? If you like to write and would like to share your knowledge
on a subject which would benefit our business readers, please reach out to our
Editor, Erin Webb, and she will provide the particulars. If you want or desire to tell
our now 30,000 plus readers about your business and the products or services you
offer, this would be a great place to market or advertise your business to the
region. We hope you will enjoy this first copy and take this journey with us as we
grow and refine the publication to meet the needs of our partners, businesses,
readers and members. Again, thank you and welcome. Please enjoy what will
become a quarterly regular feature going forward, which will be our CEO profile.
Our first is Michael Nagle of INEOS. We would like to thank Michael and the folks at
INEOS for arranging for us this wonderful interview.
Until next month, may you prosper.
