36th Annual CCISD Livestock Show & Auction The 36th Annual CCISD Livestock Show and Auction will kick off Tuesday, January 30th at 5:30 PM at 2155 West Nasa Blvd, Webster, TX. Sponsor – Sponsor awards and/or show operations while receiving recognition for your contribution to the success of the CCISD Livestock Show. Aimed at developing premier leadership skills through person growth and career success in agricultural education, the Clear Creek ISD FFA programs have grown to more than 400 member’s district wide. FFA members participate in a multitude of activities year round, not only in raising animals, but in leadership and career development events such as chapter conducting, job interview competitions, livestock, horse and meats evaluation, quiz teams, public speaking events, agriscience fair, etc. Commitment Buyer – a buyer commits to buy a student’s animal for a set price. If the animal doesn’t make the live auction the committed buyer gets the animal. If the animal does make the live auction this commitment stands until the bid price exceeds the commitment. CCISD is one of a few school districts that hosts its own livestock show. Livestock shows allow students the opportunity to put classroom instruction into practice on an individual basis and compete against their peers. Most of the students have averaged 20-30 hours weekly at the barn feeding, working with and cleaning after their animals. Exhibitors have dedicated themselves to bringing out the best in their animals. The continued success of the Clear Creek ISD Livestock Show and Auction is dependent on the continued and increased support of our community. There are numerous ways the community can get involved that don’t require a lot of time or financial commitment. Ideally we’d love to have you as an auction bidder, and EVERYONE is invited to join us and bid on the live and/or silent auction (baked goods, pictures, floral arrangements, etc.). If you know you would like to be a buyer at the Auction, please email JT Buford, CTE Program Manager, for early registration at [email protected]. Walk-ins and spectators are always a welcome sight the night of the auction as well. The buyer’s dinner will begin at 5:00 pm on Thursday, February 1st with live auction activities beginning at 7:00 pm. If you are not available to be present the night of the live auction OR wish to get involved in another capacity some options include: 23 By: Dorothy Pearson          Clear Springs FFA Advertising Committee Committee Chairman  [email protected]       MOMENTUM / Holiday 2017 Add-on Buyer – this is a way to support a student(s) without having to purchase an animal. You can “add-on” $10 - $10,000 to any student(s)’s project. Freezer Sale Buyer – Projects that do not make the live auction are sold in the freezer sale for a set price, there is no bidding. You go the freezer sale table at 6:00 pm the night of the Auction, and tell them what type of animal you would like to buy (or purchase a specific student’s animal). The buyer has the option of having the animal processed at Dorecks (Santa Fe), Goings (Baytown), or Jacksons (Highlands) meat markets. If the buyer does not want to process the animal, they can “floor” the animal and get a credit toward their bill based on the weight of the animal. We welcome and encourage you to check out the show schedule and come see for yourself the excitement, commitment and dedication of these future community leaders and get involved. For any pre-show questions, please feel free to email: JT Buford, CTE Program Manager at [email protected] to answer your questions… we appreciate and look forward to seeing you there.
