Blow Drying TIPS
B
low drying is an often overlooked part of a
great style. You can hide a bad cut with a
great blowout, but you won’t showcase a
great cut with a bad blow out. Follow these
few tips to reduce your blow dry time while
maintaining the integrity of your hair.
1. Start with towel drying. Squeeze, do not rub, as
rubbing the hair briskly together will rough the
cuticle, changing the texture and damaging the hair.
2. Apply a fast dry product such as FS Blow Dry
Primer. This cuts blow dry time in half by sealing the
appropriate amount of moisture into the hair and
helps smooth the cuticle leaving a nice shine. Less
heat. Less Damage.
3. Rough dry the hair quickly until it is 80-85% dry.
This does not mean be rough with the hair. It just
means you
aren’t using
a brush yet.
Blow the hair
while running
your fingers
through it.
4. Round brush
your hair
by parting
sections
smaller than
your brush
so you can
manage
them. Place
the brush
at the root
making sure
the root area
is dry and then
systematically
work your way
to the mid-
shaft and ends.

applying tension to the hair. If you are wanting more
volume, adjust the placement of your brush to either
sit at the parted section or above the parted section,
applying tension while lifting away from the scalp.
Brush size will also help you create volume. Working
through the hair systematically from the bottom of the
head to the top, and the roots to ends, will keep the
dry hair dry and will speed up the process.
5. Finish out your style with FS Finishing Spray to hold
your style with a natural look.
Pro Tip: Consider using a dry shampoo after finishing
your blowout. While dry shampoo is thought of to
replace a wet shampoo, by spraying a little at the roots
on clean hair will help absorb some of the natural oils in
the hair and make your style last even longer.
