Rotary is an international service organization whose stated purpose is to bring together business and professional leaders in
order to provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations and to advance goodwill and peace
around the world. The Rotary Club of League City accomplishes this through five avenues of service: Club, Vocational,
Community, International and Youth. The Rotary Foundation has received the highest possible score from Charity Navigator,
and independent evaluator of charities in the U.S. In the most recent ratings, The Rotary Foundation earned the maximum 100
points for both demonstrating strong financial health and commitment to accountability and transparency.
A few of our outreach programs include:
Mobile Food Distribution
Many families struggle each month to provide food for their families. Rotary provides
assistance by operating a Mobile Food Distribution Center each second Thursday of
the month at 147 Park Avenue from 1:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. Families can receive fresh
fruit, vegetables and meat. Approximately 300 families are served each month. To
help with expenses, sponsorships are available for $250. Volunteers, churches, and
organizations interested in helping distribute food are asked to contact the Rotary
Club of League City.
Flu Clinics
To aid in helping families stay healthy and keeping children in school, the Rotary Club of League City provides flu shots in the
fall through four elementary schools in League City. The flu clinics are open to the community. This past year almost 1,000
influenza vaccines were given to area residents.
Polio Eradicating polio worldwide is a goal of Rotary International. Each December, our Rotary raises funds to support this
project through a Polar Bear Plunge. Rotarians solicit donations and jump into the frigid waters of the South Shore Harbour
Resort pool. With matching funds from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the eradication of this debilitating and often
fatal disease is very near.
Brew n More II
To aid in continuing our outreach projects the Rotary Club of League City will hold their major fund raiser, Brew n More II on
Thursday, March 29 from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at South Shore Harbour Resorts’ Marina Ballroom. Tickets are $40.00 and will
provide access to tastings from six local br
