HOW CAN YOU HELP?
Dear Neighbors,
It goes without saying that the last few weeks
have been a challenging and somewhat
uncertain time as we navigate the impacts and
changes the Coronavirus has brought to our
daily lives. There are a lot of unknowns right
now, but what has remained constant over
the years is the resilience of our community
and the determination of our residents to
support one another. We saw this firsthand
during Hurricane Harvey, and we are seeing
it again now. Whether it’s ordering take
out from one of our city’s local restaurants,
hosting a mobile food distribution event,
or children creating artwork
uplift the spirits of their neighbors,
I am proud of League City.

Many in our community are
struggling to pay their bills, keep
their business open, or feed their
families. Some are sick from the
virus or caring for a family member
or loved one who is infected. All
of us have been forced to change
our daily routines to protect not
only ourselves and our families, but
everyone in our community. Now,
more than ever, we must remain diligent in
our efforts to maintain social distancing and
follow the recommendations of local, state,
and national public health experts. Please
stay home and limit your daily activities to
only essential ones, like going to the grocery
store or pharmacy, or picking up a take-out
order at a restaurant. If you have a question
about what you should or should not be
doing, we have prepared a list of frequently
asked questions at www.leaguecity.com/
stayathome.
I am extremely proud of our residents, and also want to personally thank all
League City staff members for their unwavering dedication to our community,
particularly our first responders who continue to keep our city safe and
protected. League City is committed to maintaining essential services for
our citizens during this unprecedented time and will continue to do so in the
weeks ahead. This includes water, wastewater, trash collection, and emergency
services. While access to city buildings and facilities has been restricted, city
staff are still available to serve our residents via phone and email, and many city
services are available online 24/7, including utility bill payments and court fines.
We are all in this together. Continue to do all you can to stay healthy and protect
the health of your neighbors and everyone in our community. For daily updates,
visit the city’s official Facebook page at Facebook.com/leaguecitytexas.
We are “League City Strong.”

SUFFERING FROM COVID-19 STRESS?
Your mental health is just as important as
your physical health. Here are some ways
to de-stress:
•Connect with others you trust via phone,
email, or social media.
•Avoid over-watching and over-reading
COVID-19 related news and media coverage.
•Avoid rumors and get the true facts at
www.cdc.gov or www.gchd.org.
•Pace yourself between stressful activities
by doing something fun.
•Consider keeping a journal of things you are
grateful for.
•Don’t hesitate to get help when you need it.
