The Perfect Valentine’ s Day

Whether you’ re in puppy love or you’ ve been married for more years than you count, you want to make Valentine’ s Day a special occasion for the one you love. This isn’ t just men treating their ladies. This is for everyone who likes making their special someone feel cherished.
After celebrating Valentine’ s Day year after year you may find yourself short on ideas to make this day just as memorable as the previous ones were. Hopefully this will offer a perspective and some simple tips to help spark some ideas during your own planning.
Make it Unique: Make it different than what you’ ve done in the past and treat your special someone to a Valentine’ s Weekend. Yes, even though it falls on a Tuesday this year. It doesn’ t necessarily have to be a weekend full of nonstop activities, but do something each day instead of everything just on the one day. For instance, start with flowers and chocolates from a local florist and have it delivered to their work on Valentine’ s Day.
Plan Ahead: This might sound like a no brainer until you procrastinate and then try to make reservations the night before Valentine’ s Day in hopes of getting a table for dinner at 7PM. Most restaurants are able to take reservations during special occasions, and look forward to making this day a special dinner for their guests.
Plan to be Flexible: Things may not go as perfectly as envisioned, but it’ s important to not let it ruin your night or weekend. So have a backup plan. Is there rain in the forecast that might interfere with your planned stroll through the park? Plan to stroll through a museum instead or go to one of their favorite indoor activities.
Ban the Smartphones: Make a promise between you both to completely refrain from using your phones. It’ s just one night; Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat can wait. It’ s no surprise that people today are more connected than ever before, all the time. For that reason, this may have the biggest impact than the other ideas mentioned above. Why? Because no one does this anymore, ever! Don’ t make them compete for your attention between your phone and them. Imagine how great it would make them feel to know that you willingly turned off your phone so you can focus on them.
Have Fun: Most of all, don’ t forget to have fun and enjoy each other! Ultimately it’ s about spending time together and remembering what made you fall in love in the first place. If you plan it from the heart then you can’ t go wrong.
