TURKISH EXPORTERS ASSEMBLY ANNOUNCED THE TOP 1000 EXPORTERS OF 2018. 122 OF THESE COMPANIES ARE MAİB
MEMBERS. ACCORDING TO THE STUDY OF ‘TURKEY’S TOP 1000 EXPORTERS 2018’, THE TOP 1000 COMPANIES REALIZED A
TOTAL OF 102.8 BILLION DOLLARS OF EXPORTS, INCREASED BY 10.5 BILLION COMPARED TO THE PREVIOUS YEAR. THESE
COMPANIES ARE THE BIGGEST INDICATOR THAT TURKEY’S EXPORTS TO BE SPREAD THROUGHOUT OPERATING IN 50
PROVINCES.

exporters; announced
‘Turkey’s Top 1000 Exporters’
for the 17th time. Top 1000
Companies realized a total
of 102.8 billion dollars of
exports, increased by 10.5
billion dollars compared to
2017, and their share from
the total exports increased to
61,2%. The total share of the
Top 500 companies from the
exports is 52,6 %.
THE TOP THREE KEPT
THEIR PLACES ON THE
LIST
According to the report, that
has 122 of MAİB members
on the Top 1000 List, Ford
Otomotiv is the leading
exporting company of Turkey
with 5.683 billion dollars.
The second place is Toyota
Otomotiv with 4.598 billion
dollars and the third place is
Tofaş Türk with 2.998 billion
dollars. Kibar Dış Ticaret, the
6th exporting company of
the previous year, raised up
to the 4th in the ranking with
2.72 billion dollars of exports.
TGS Dış Ticaret, the 12 th
exporting company of the
previous year, raised 7 steps
on the ladder, becoming
the 5 th exporting company
of Turkey with 2.591 billi-
on dollars. Türkiye Petrol
Rafinerileri, with 2.467 billion
dollars is the 6 th on the list.
Vestel is the 7 th with 2.255
billion dollars and Arçelik is
the 8 th with 1.937 billion dol-
lars. The 9th company on the
Top 1000 Exporters is Oyak-
Renault with 1.784 billion
dollars and the 10 th company
is Habaş with 1.544 billion
dollars, who raised one step
on the ladder compared to
the previous year.
FIRST 1000 COMPANIES
SPREAD OVER 50
PROVINCES
According to the report’s
sectoral evaluation, the top
exporting sector is apparel
with 154 companies on the
list. Chemicals and chemical
products sector is the second
sector with 106 represanta-
tives on the Top 1000. The
third is the automotive sector
with 102 companies at the
Top 1000 List. The Top 1000
Exporters are located in a
variety of 50 provinces from
İstanbul to Şırnak, Samsun to
Osmaniye which is a strong
indicator of Turkey’s exports is
spread over the whole country.
440 of the companies are
based in İstanbul, followed
by 76 companies in İzmir and
67 companies in Kocaeli. The
regional distribution of the
companies are as follows: 600
companies from the Marmara
Region, 146 companies from
Aegean Region and 83 com-
panies from Central Anatolian
Region. It is also remarkable
that there are represantatives
of all seven regions of Turkey
in the Top 1000 Exporters List.
THE TOP 1000 IS ALSO

EMPLOYMENT AND
VALUE ADDED
The average number of
employees of the top 1000
companies was 781 in 2018,
indicating that these firms
only provided close to 800
thousand jobs. In 2016, the
same number was 704,
which means that the most
successful exporters support
employment, employing
almost 100,000 workers in
just two years.
The survey shows that the
Top 1000 carries Turkey
forward with unit prices too.
Exports average unit price is
1,33 dollars per kilogram in
2018, while it is 1,37 dollars
with the Top 1000. The ave-
rage unit price of exports per
kilogram is 1,40 dollars for
the Top 500 and 2,76 dollars
for the Top 10 companies.

In the Top 1000 Exporters
Survey, the number of
companies exporting 1 billion
dollars and more increased
from 10 to 13 compared to
the previous year, while
the number of companies
exporting 100 million dollars
and more increased from 145
to 171.
