Fat Talk has become pretty normal in our society and most people aren’t even aware of the effect it has on our body confidence and how we feel about ourselves. It is time to change the conversation! “Do I look fat in this?“, “I’m so fat“, “She should not be wearing those pants”…. this is Fat Talk. Fat Talk Free Week originated from the Tri Delta Sorority House in the USA and The Butterfly Foundation will be celebrating Fat Talk Free Week again this year in February, encouraging everyone to shut down Fat Talk. This is your opportunity to become a champion for change. Start your own revolution. Shut down Fat Talk! There are a number of ways you can become involved in Fat Talk Free month, including supporting The Butterfly Foundation by holding a fundraising event. This could include one of the following:• Have a themed day – “Embrace YOU” or “Empowerment Day” or “Just as I am“; • Hold a cup cake or Butterfly cake stall; • Conduct a fun run or walkathon; • Collect money in a “swear jar” every time someone uses Fat Talk!
