Girl Guides
venture underground
Thought about trying CAVING?
Caving is a unique and fun way to explore parts of
the world that most people never see.
Plus you can do it all year round - rain, hail or shine
since you are going to be under the ground away.
This facinating activity is also known as spelunking
in the USA and Canada (that word always makes
me smile) and potholing in the UK and Ireland.
A group of adventurous Kingston Girl Guides
tried caving out for themselves earlier this year at
their district camp with the great leaders from the
Melbourne District Guide Caving Group.
“We crawled, grovelled, climbed, wriggled, bumped
their heads and above all had loads of fun at
Britannia Creek Cave in Victoria”.
If you want to find out more about caving or give it
a go yourself try Melbourne Adventure Company or
google caving in your own state or country - there
are loads of great places to go.
Remember...
Are you an explorer?
Do you like the idea of wading through
underground rivers, crawling through the dark
with only a torch and the odd glow worm to
