First rule : You must outscore the dealer .
Second rule :
Don ’ t “ bust ” ( i . e . let the value of your hand exceed 21 ). If the dealer busts , cue the happy dance – that ’ s a win for you .
Improve Your Odds of Winning
Scoring in Blackjack :
A player ’ s score is calculated based on the value of the cards in your hand .
Face cards , be it a King , Queen or Jack , are worth 10 points .
Aces are worth either 1 or 11 points .
All other cards are counted at face value . For example , a 4 is worth 4 points , a 5 is worth 5 points and so on .
