From the City of Kingman Building Division: There was a 42‐percent increase in new housing starts the first seven months of 2015 compared to the first seven months of 2014. Eighteen permits for new single‐family residen al homes were issued in July. Addi onal permits were ready to be issued but contractors were unable to pick them up by months‐end. The City has seen a total of 130 new single‐family housing starts so far in 2015 compared to 93 new housing starts the first seven months of 2014. In July there were no commercial building starts received. However, building permits to remodel 11 exis ng commercial buildings were issued. Six new commercial building permits have been issued so far in 2015 compared to seven for all of 2014. Overall, building ac vity increased 5.6‐percent and total building valua on is up 52.6‐percent compared to 2014. Greater ac vity is expected in August due to pending building permits along with building permits an cipated to be issued during the month of August.
