BayG.A.P. SERVICE PROGRAM MODULE 1
Step 5:
Regular reviews of assessments and updates:
Few farms stay the same. Sooner or later, equipment changes and new substances and/or procedures
are introduced that could cause new hazards. Therefore, a regular review of hazards and precautions
is useful, preferrably on a yearly basis.
Every year, check with regards to assessments if you are up to date with recognized good practices.
In doing so, you are ensuring steady improvement or at least not falling behind. Review your risk as-
sessment on the same date every year or any time you undergo or plan significant change or if you
are forced to adapt to new conditions:
• Have there been any changes?
• Are there improvements you still need to make?
• Have your workers spotted problems?
• Have you learned anything from incidences or near misses?
• Make sure your risk assessment stays up to date.
Few farms stay the same – regularly review
your risk assessment and adapt to change.
The exercise form MF 1 enclosed in this folder can serve as a way to assess individual on-farm risks
and to develop a management plan comprising counter measures against those risks, in accordance
with the localg.a.p. standard.
