A VJ is visualist, a visualizer, a projectionist that mixes live video, a performance artist. They are not videographers or filmmakers.
We are performative artists who mix live video creations with music, with our hands on equipment, and our eyes on the audience and the projection screen. As the night unfolds, our performance comes alive.
Don’ t skimp on this, they will work hard at your event. They need referrals from previous work. They deserve your support.
Hire your VJ before doing a press announcement. If it is too late, send out a second batch of announcements, with your VJ on the list of artists.
If you don’ t know where to put your VJ on the flyer, put the VJs with the DJs or give them a special line credit.

Curators, promoters, musicians, artistic collaborators, producers, curious minds may want to work with a VJ. Here some simple basics to consider. if you want a happy VJ. It boils down to:
VJs are performance artists, just like DJs, musicians, singers, dancer, s etc. They are part of the show and make the event exists as such. GIVE THEM CREDIT! Show some love!
Before the event, include your VJ on all mailings, flyers, websites, social networks, and so forth. just as you would with any other performer at the event.
Ask your VJ what they want to be published. Depending on the type of event, some prefer to use alternative titles to VJ, such as visualizador.
If the VJ is part of the band, take care that everyone knows that the band includes a VJ! Make special note!
Inform the press of the VJ so they cover and photograph accordingly.
We should not even need to point this out. But, introduce the artists to each other! Let them know about each others work. Together they make the show happen. Sometimesm artists have no idea who will perform or do with live visuals. The more informationthat they havem the better. This can lead to incredibly creative collaborations.
Finally, include biographies, video examples, still images, websites, etc. with artist information for event. They need the publicity, too.
