A
friend
in
need
asked
for
a
simple
favor
that
launched
a
modeling
career
for
Layla
Strickland.
“In
March
of
2012,
a
good
friend
of
mine
was
geong
started
as
a
photographer
and
asking
all
of
his
friends
to
be
his
test
models,”
Layla
explained.
“I
agreed
to
a
shoot
and
we
had
a
blast
running
around
downtown
geong
shots.
A[er
that
night
we

had
two
other
shoots
and
I
enjoyed
it
so
much
that
I
decided
to
take
it
somewhere!”
With
modeling
credits
throughout
the
East
Coast,
Layla
said
she
is
also
starAng
to
accept
modeling
assignments
on
the
West
Coast,
adding
that
she
is
enjoying
every
modeling
experience
along
the
way,
some
who
she
considers
to
be
good
friends.
“My
most
posiAve
experience
has
been
meeAng
all
of
the
amazing,
wonderful
people
I
have
met
along
the
way,”
she
said.
“In
my
Ame,
I
have
met
and
go]en
to
know
the
best
people
you
can
meet
in
life
and
if
not
for
modeling,
I
would
not
have
had
the
pleasure.”
Se]ling
into
a
realisAc
modeling
pace,
Layla
intends
to
enjoy
modeling
as
a
part-?Ame
career.
“As
far
as
career
goals,
I
do
not
see
modeling
as
a
full
Ame
job.
I
do
it
more
for
fun
and
the
love
of
art
than
anything
else,”
she
said.
“However,
I
am
now
focusing
on
commercial
and
print
modeling.
I
am
short,
only
5'3",
so
that
rules
out
most
fashion
and
runway
already,
but
I
think
with
my
drive
I
can
be
quite
successful
in
other
areas.”
Layla
said
that
other
models
should
try
to
learn
about
the
modeling
career
?eld
before
starAng
their
modeling
career.
“For
models
that
are
just
starAng
out
I
would
say
?nd
what
you
like
and
focus
on
that,”
she
said.
“I
jumped
into
this
with
no
knowledge
of
how
the
business
worked
and
it
has
taken
me
quite
some
Ame
to
?gure
out
what
I
want
and
how
to
get
it.”
